Rafting on the Korana River
Get to know Rastoke and its famous waterfalls up close. Rafting on the Korana takes the most beautiful route, through the heart of Rastoke, the watermill jewel of the Slunj area. If you love adrenaline, this is the challenge for you. Rafting is only possible in autumn, winter and early spring, as it depends heavily on the water level, which must be high. If you are interested, send us an inquiry and we will check the water level and whether the trip can be arranged.
Equipment
Rafting is done in GUMOTEX inflatable boats holding 4–7 people, through numerous rapids and tufa barriers where you will feel the rush of adrenaline. A guide is in the boat with you, coordinating and steering. Besides the boat and paddle, professional equipment is provided: helmet, life jacket, wetsuit, water shoes, anorak jackets (on cold days) and a waterproof barrel for snacks, drinks and small items.
About the river and the trip
The guides explain everything you need to know about the trip, after which all necessary equipment is handed to you. The guides and drivers then take you to the river, to a starting point about 5 minutes from the agency.
Korana rafting means navigating the river in boats through many wild rapids and tufa barriers. You travel only through the less accessible parts of the Korana, which makes it an unforgettable adventure.
You pass through beautiful river canyons with no settlements along the course. Along the way you will come across several old, abandoned watermills. This stretch of the river holds over thirty waterfalls, all of which can be crossed by boat.
